History
The Belgian Malinois is a working dog breed developed in the Mechelen area of Belgium in the 19th century. The Belgian Malinois is a robust and muscular dog and an adult typically measures between 22 and 26 inches (56 to 66 cm) tall at the withers and weighs between 40 and 80 pounds (18.1 to 36.2 kg). These dogs are often used by rescue services due to their intelligence, trainability and strength.
