Happy New Year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our volunteers, supporters and customers for their dedication in helping us achieve our aim in helping abandoned and mistreated animals and sterilizing feral cats. Without your help, many animals would simply not survive. Please continue to support us and therefore help animals who through no fault of their own require rescuing and protection. Our Charity Shop has a wide selection of furniture, bric-a-brac and clothing all at low prices and if you wish to become a Member of our Association for 5 euros per year you will receive a 10% discount card. DOGS In September a small, well-behaved, cute dog arrived into our care. He was no longer welcome in the family where he had spent the last 12 years since a pup. He no longer fitted in with their life. He was never walked, looked after properly and had not seen a vet in years. He was confused but during his visit to the vet to have his nails clipped, blood test and the microchipped changed, he showed us that he had a gentle personality. As soon as we put his story on our Facebook page, he was snapped up by Suzana, a real animal lover. Pancho now lives with Suzana, her family and 2 other dogs. The entire family, including Pancho, are very happy together. This is a lovely, warming success story! We wish they could all have such a happy ending, but alas, it is not to be. We still have animals that are in need of a good home, some have been with us for over a year. During 2018 we paid 17,103.71€ for our dog program; veterinary expenses; lodging and food. CATS Recently a young cat was brought to us with very serious injuries. Her tail was completely dead having no fur and black in colour. Her front paw was also badly damaged. Her tail was amputated and it was thought that her paw would need to amputated too. However, after extensive work by the vets, they were able to save two of her toes. This has enabled her to get around although with some difficulty. She is now living with the lady who found her and is making good progress. During 2018 we paid 18,456.17€ for our cat program; veterinary expenses and food. MEMBERSHIP NEWS Membership of the Association is €5 per year - application forms are available in the shop; online at our website or by emailing membership.apac@gmail.com NEW!!
