Before you start filling out the form, we would like to emphasize that adopting a cat is not a decision you should take lightly and we strongly advise people to consider this decision carefully. Caring for a cat, a living creature that depends on you, is a big responsibility that you take on for many years.

Well, thinking about adopting a new family pet? Great! Please fill out the questions listed below and click ‘Submit’. We know it's quite a list of questions, but think of this questionnaire as your letter of introduction to make one of our cats a part of your life. With this information we can review if the cat of your choice could be a good match for your situation. After receiving your application form, we will get back in touch with you as soon as possible!

1] Have you ever had a cat/kitten before? If yes, describe which breed and for how many years you had it. If you haven't had cats in the past, tell us why you have decided to have one now.

2] How many people live at your home and what are their ages?

3] Do you currently have other pets living with you? Are they compatible with cats?

4] Have you considered that having a cat/kitten involves costs, both fixed costs for food, other supplies and periodic vet visits, as well as things like medication, holiday accommodation or unexpected costs in case of an emergency?

5] Do you work from home or away? In which case, how many hours per day the cat will have to spend alone?

6] In what type of house do you live? If it is rented, do you have permission from the landlord to have a cat/kitten in this house? And could you install the safety nets that we require for adopting a cat/kitten?

7] If living in a flat, have you got safety installation to prevent from accidents such as falls (mosquito nets in windows and netting in balconies/terraces)? If lacking such installation, are you willing to put whatever is required and needed for the welfare and safety of the adopted cat/kitten?

9] It is procedure that our cat team (one or two APAC volunteers) will do a pre-adoption home check to ensure that the conditions are suitable for the particular cat/kitten. Do you agree with this procedure?
